What a good boy! No accidents!

Hi, Pepper here. I'm smiling because foster mom says I'm a GOOD boy! I have gone two nights in a row with no accidents. Foster mom is bugging me saying she wants the pen, so here she is.

Foster mom here. Pepper is house trained. He had no problem holding it last night with free run of the house. I got a pet gate to keep him from going upstairs, mostly for my peace of mind. I also blocked the downstairs with the plastic crate. We fed Pepper at about 8:30 last night, then walked him. Pepper could easily be fed earlier, we are just trying to compromise his dining time with my girl's late night dining.

Also the probiotics are working. When I let him out this morning he went right to the grass for #1 and #2. #2 was better formed and alot less smelly.

Pepper was neutered before coming into foster care. He is pretty good about not licking it but seems to want to at night. Last night when he started licking it I picked him up, put him on my husband's side of the bed where he snuggled right into his arms and promptly fell asleep. I rolled over and went to sleep also. He is a very affectionate and people oriented boy!

This morning Pepper made little attempt to get his foster sister's breakfast and ate his own with out trying to get theirs. I think Pepper would do well in a home with or without other dogs. He can go either way.

Pepper, is fairly low energy and calm in the house. He would do well in a calm quiet house and doesn't appear to need alot of exercise although all dogs enjoy some.

Pepper's favorite things appear to be having a nice chew and snuggling with his humans. He sits patiently by your side waiting for attention and does not push himself on you. With a known place to go, like our living room dog beds, he goes right there to settle down.

With his ability to walk well on a leash Pepper would do well with an older person or couple. He does not jump up. Sometimes he stands on his hind legs and with the touch of a feather puts them against you to get your attention but he doesn't even put his full 20 lbs on you so there is no danger that anyone would get knocked down.

Pepper is pretty interested in food preparation so can get underfoot in the kitchen but this would be easily solved by putting a dog bed on the floor and sending him there. He would be happy just being nearby.

Pepper willingly spent the first few nights on the floor either under the bed or on a dog bed. Last night we invited him in the bed and he did great there also. His new home can decide which way they want to go and he should be OK with either. He doesn't dig around in the dirt like my other dogs and keeps himself clean so we didn't mind having him up on the bed.
